About the grant

 

Council's Creative Education Fund which is part of the Arts and Culture Funding Program supports primary, secondary and specialist schools across the shire to provide creative opportunities for students.

This initiative aligns with the council priorities to support activities that:

  • enable arts and culture participation, or
  • raise the profile of arts and culture, or
  • activate places and spaces.

All primary and secondary schools within NGSC are eligible.

A fixed amount of $500 plus GST will be provided to successful applicants.

No quotes are required.

Applicants have six months to expend the funds (September 2026).

Project ideas include but aren't limited to:

  • Art supplies for creative activities
  • Engaging an artist to run a workshop
  • Hosting, attending or delivering a performance
  • Activities, artworks or creative projects that support existing community events such as the Christmas Tree Festival (Stawell) or Christmas Parade (St Arnaud) or any other relevant community event/activity.

Works created with this fund could be showcased to the broader community by council.

Please submit your application and tax invoice no later than 5.00pm March 31,2026.

This initiative aligns with the council priorities to support activities that enable arts and culture participation, raise the profile of arts and culture, or activate places and spaces.

Eligibility

All primary, secondary schools and specialist schools within Northern Grampians Shire Council are eligible.

Requirements

Applicants have six months to expend the funds (Septmber 2026).

Application process

Submit this application along with your tax invoice made out for $500 plus GST to Northern Grampians Shire Council.

Council staff will assess your application and advise of the outcome via email. 

Assessment criteria

Applications will be assessed on their alignment to the focus/priority areas of the Creative Education fund which are activities that enable arts and culture participation, raise the profile of arts and culture, or activate places and spaces.

Evaluation and award process

Applications will be reviewed, assessed and processed in early April 20026. Applicants can expect to be notified before the end of April 2026.

Acquittal (Feedback form)

No detailed acquittal is required; however, grant recipients are required to fill in a short feedback form about the activity/project in Smarty Grants.

Applications received after 5.00pm March 31, 2026 are unable to be considered.
