✍️ Tips for Writing Your Application

Writing a strong grant application doesn't need to be complicated! Keep these tips in mind as you work through each question:

Read each question carefully.
Make sure you fully understand what's being asked before you start writing.

Check the hints or guidance below each question.
These can help you know what kind of information to include and what to leave out.

Stick to the point.
Only answer what the question is asking. Including too much extra information can make your key message unclear.

Be clear and specific.
Use plain language and include concrete details, like numbers, locations, or examples where possible.

Use dot points if it helps.
For lists or descriptions, dot points can make your answers easier to read.

Avoid jargon or acronyms.
Write as if someone reading your application has never heard of your organisation or project before.

Keep your audience in mind.
The people assessing your application may not be experts in your field so aim for clarity, not complexity.

Review before submitting.
Check spelling and grammar, make sure you have answered every question, and get someone else to read it over if you can.
